The Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF was founded in 1986. As one of the 36 national committees for UNICEF, we organize fundraising and advocacy activities to provide financial support for UNICEF’s programmes across over 150 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive.

We aim to arouse public awareness of the plight of children in developing countries and of the need to champion children’s rights.

We also organize programmes to encourage youth participation in voluntary services.

UNICEF's global reach

UNICEF, United Nations Children's Fund, is the world's leading UN organization working specifically for children. Since our establishment in 1946, we have been working with other UN agencies, governments and NGOs to ensure children's rights in survival, development, protection and participation. UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965 for its efforts and contributions to children worldwide.

We are now working in over 150 countries and territories to provide emergency relief and run long-term development programmes such as health, education and child protection.

Over 86% of our staff works in the field and more than 90% donations are spent on UNICEF's field programmes. UNICEF receives no funding from the United Nations, and relies on people like you to help build a world fit for children.
