Change for Good

How will you deal with your leftover foreign money after every business or vacation trip? Research showed that the average international traveller, either on business or vacation, was returning home with more than US$2 worth of foreign currency in the form of loose change which could not be redeemed in their home country. It was estimated that US$40 million in convertible foreign change was lost every year as a result of international passage.

Since 1991, the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF and Cathay Pacific Airways co-organised the "Change For Good" campaign. To date, “Change for Good” has raised over US$8 millions to support UNICEF’s long-term assistant work for children in 157 developing countries, as well as to provide life saving supplies to children affected by the disaster such as food, drinking water, medicine and shelter. And, the proceeds raised weigh equal to 1,011 tonnes, which is as heavy as 5 Airbus 340 aircrafts.

How can I get involved?

Simply leave your unwanted coins and notes in any currencies into the “Change for Good” envelope and pass it to cabin crew anytime on all Cathay Pacific flights.
Or, you are welcome to donate the coins and notes at:

  1. Cathay Pacific City (8 Scenic Road, Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau, HK)
  2. Cathay Pacific Ticketing Office (10/F, Peninsula Office Tower, 18 Middle Road, Tsimshatsui, HK)
