Lives of children in Nepal

Amar: “Thanks for the new sandals!”
For years, Amar has to support his family’s living by picking trash on streets and in slumps areas, and wash dishes in small restaurants in the neighbourhood. At the age of 9, he was first by UNICEF staff and was invited to the “Out-of-School Class”. Never have been educated before, Amar attends the Class to learn simple Nepalese writing and reading, and mathematics, before going to work in restaurant everyday. He hopes to find a better job in restaurants as he can read and calculate now.
Symbolized by his worn-out sandals, Amar, like other street children, his future is never regarded as a promising one. However, with the chances to equip himself at the “Out-of-School Class”, Amar is moving towards a brighter future.
Our little gift to him, wishing him could walk out a better life. And with the new sandals, hope his feet would not get hurt again.
