Lives of children in Nepal

Anil : “I wish to be a truck driver …. So I could look for my father”

Under extreme heat, Anil loads baskets of limestone to the trucks, but this hard job could only earn him a little. Let alone the hardship, he even hit by the truck when he was working at the sand-mining sites, leaving him a long scar on his right arm.

A 12-year-old boy, Anil was supposed to be in school. Yet, Anil’s father left the family when he was small, and as the eldest son, he has to take care of his mother and sister, sand-mining, doing housework such as fetching water… It’s heart breaking when we heard from Anil that, “I miss my father, I wish I could be a truck driver, not because of earning money, but to go out to look for my father”.

Still, we are happy that Anil is attending the “Out-of-School Class” and stopped sand-mining a month ago.
