Trip to Napal

HKCU Ambassador Louis Koo (on his first UNICEF field visit)

To us, children are innocent, lively and cute, because they are beloved. We give the best to the children and plan for their future. Parents dedicate to ensure a safe and successful path for their children.

Yet, in Nepal, too many children are plunged by a sense of hopelessness. From their eyes, I can tell that they are uneasy and insecure. Their suffering and miserable memories emerged from their smile. I strongly agreed with the saying - children are the country’s future.
To change the current situation in Nepal, education should come first. Children should not be wandering on the street as a scavenger or engaging in work that is not even manageable by adults. Social status of the women should be raised; children should attend school to learn and know basic hygienic practice. Knowledge empowers children to change their destiny. I strongly support the work of UNICEF and its vision; I hope that I could see a brighter future of the children.
