23 July 2026, Hong Kong – Ms Judy Chen, Chairman of the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK), was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 2^nd Global International Organization Youth Talent Development Summit Forum, co-hosted by Hong Kong Sino–Foreign Exchange Center, The Global SDGs and Leadership Development Center, and the Department of Public and International Affairs of the City University of Hong Kong.

In her speech themed "What's Education For," Ms Chen highlighted that education is far more than grades, degrees, or prestige. It is a bridge between the classroom and the world, and a powerful tool for transformation. She challenged the audience to consider education as both a right and a responsibility, reminding them that 258 million children and youth remain out of school globally, while 617 million cannot read or do basic math despite being in classrooms. She called on students and educators alike to carry their learning out into conversations, communities, and everyday life, to apply ideas to real-world problems, to speak honestly on issues that matter, and to recognise that education becomes even more powerful when it leaves the classroom.

On another occasion, around 40 youth representatives from the Hong Kong Sino-Foreign Exchange Center visited the UNICEF HK office to gain a deeper understanding of the organisation's work in global humanitarian relief and child rights advocacy over the past 40 years. UNICEF HK Communications and Media Relations Committee members Ms Lorraine Chan and Professor Anthony Fung, along with Fundraising Committee member Mr Keith Ip, joined the session to engage with the students. Drawing on their respective professional backgrounds, they shared how they apply their expertise to UNICEF HK's operations, offering the youth a holistic view of how international organisations function and how diverse skills can advance children's rights.
