UNICEF HK Commits to Sustain Post-Traumatic Support for Tai Po Students with All Public Donations from ‘WondeRun’
02/12/2025
Hong Kong, 2 December 2025 – Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) continues to work hand in hand with various stakeholders and supporters after providing immediate children supplies to families and schools affected by the Tai Po Fire.
UNICEF HK recognises the immense grief brought to the school community hence deployed a team together with the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Hong Kong registered counsellors to visit the first school on 1st December upon an urgent request. With the demand for psychosocial support in schools anticipated to rise, both parties will continue to collaborate in ensuring consistent and sustained post-traumatic relief for students directly and indirectly affected.
All public donations raised from UNICEF Charity Run – ‘Hero Run WondeRun’ which advocates for the importance of both SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education, will be allocated to provide the necessary psychosocial support for the Tai Po school community.
WondeRun will continue as scheduled on 14th December to support our mission.
