Education Officer (Training and Curriculum Development)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement child rights education related curriculum with reference to a) values and works of UNICEF, b) moral and civil education curriculum guideline; and c) PSHE curriculum.
  • Design and implement train-the-trainer programmes for teachers and volunteers.
  • Develop and run training modules and education programmes for students in the school setting.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and teachers for reviewing and co-developing curriculum and school programmes.
  • Monitor and evaluate work progress and outputs to demonstrate results and impact.
  • Plan and monitor promotion and publicity of various school programmes.

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above with at least 2 years’ relevant working experience, preferably in education, training, curriculum design or related fields. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Education Officer.
  • A good understanding of global and local child issues would be a distinct advantage.
  • Good command in both spoken and written Chinese and English.
  • Proactive, independent, multi-tasking; able to work under pressure, long hours and on weekend.
  • Positive team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Immediate available is preferred

Community Engagement Leader

The position devises strategy and execution plan to mobile resources from both public and private sectors to enhance the brand equity of UNICEF in Hong Kong, promote and advocate for child rights and effectively communicate the work of UNICEF in the Hong Kong community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual community engagement and resources mobilization plan.
  • Work with advocacy, education and communications teams to identify partnership and resources mobilization needs, pitch partners in public & private sectors, and close the deal with appropriate partners to maximize results for children.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge and familiarity with current and prospective partners to enhance their contribution to children’s well-being.
  • Contribute to the development of new partnership and resource mobilization practices and approaches by formulating recommendations for action based on on-going monitoring, analyzing current trends within designated partners and formulating recommendations for strategy approaches and message development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure effective communication among team members and maximum resources mobilization to drive positive impact for children.

Requirements

  • University degree in business, communication, social science, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in business account management, corporate social responsibilities or communication.
  • Solid writing and presentation skills in both English and Chinese
  • Strong negotiation and networking skills
  • Set high standards for quality of work and consistently achieve project goals
  • Creative, highly motivated, passionate, detailed minded, and able to work effectively under pressure

Lead, Major Gifts / Lead, Corporate Partnerships

These two positions are expected to proactively source, cultivate, develop and steward high level relationships with companies / individuals to maximize the income and support for the HK Committee for UNICEF through this targeted group/channel.

Responsibilities

  • Devise short and long term plans to initiate and implement robust fundraising programme for major donors / corporate donors
  • Research, initiate and lead specific major new business opportunities, and develop pitches for potential new major gifts / corporate partnerships
  • Provide account development for key major donors / corporate partners as required including management and renewal of the organization’s current partnerships and the establishment of new relationships
  • Manage and maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor database that underpins the administration of the programme
  • Prepare written proposals, informational materials, donor agreements, and any other materials needed to secure major gifts / corporate gifts, and stewardship reports to donors on the use and impact of their gifts

Requirements

The position will act highly independently to produce results. He / She is expected to be:

  • A self-motivator and self-learner, able to acquire and build knowledge on the job or through UNICEF’s internal resource or market contact and experience
  • Highly skilled in stakeholder engagement, communications and marketing, backed by a strong social and professional network
  • Excellent English & Chinese writing skills. Able to write and present proposals effectively
  • Strong analytical skills to drive effective results and provide market assessment
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, sales and marketing, including relevant experiences with corporate donors / major donors. Some global exposure is an advantage
  • A university degree in marketing or related disciplines

Head of Finance

Responsibilities

This is a key role that reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the accounting and financial management functions of HKCU, including:

  • Leading and working with other accounting and administration staff to provide administrative support for operations
  • Preparing and drafting discussion papers, such as the annual work plan and budget for HKCU for Council and Committee meetings
  • Ensuring proper internal control processes and procedures are in effect, and in considering adoption of leading corporate governance practices
  • Ensuring that internal controls within the Finance and Administration Department are adequately designed and operating effectively

Requirements

University graduate majoring in accounting or related disciplines, preferably holding a recognized accounting qualification (such as CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, etc)

  • Minimum 7 years of accounting or relevant experience
  • A leader as well as a good team player who is committed and self-motivated
  • Ability to perform independently and work under pressure on meeting tight deadlines with strong control awareness and great sense of integrity and responsibility
  • Managerial experience in financial role and strong analytical skills
  • Strong PC skills and excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese

Human Resources Manager / Officer

Responsibilities

The role of the HR Manager is to enhance the performance of the operation through people, develop knowledge, skills and capabilities that are needed to drive growth, and nurture talents for succession. The position is expected to focus on some key areas such as:

  • Manage an effective HR administration including but not limited to staff recruitment, selection and retention to support the objectives and strategies of the organization
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the human resources structure and individuals and provide solutions for performance improvement
  • Ensure all HR practices are in compliance with own policies and the rules and regulations of the local jurisdiction
  • Provide opportunities for employees to learn and grow through training and development, whether locally or within the global system of UNICEF

Requirements

  • Solid experience in human resources practice and strong knowledge of employment related regulations and labour law
  • Mature and pleasant personality, able to communicate with staff and resolve their grievances and concerns
  • Some experience with NGOs is preferred but not a must
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Suitable candidates may work either full time or part time
  • A university degree, plus at least 10 years of hands-on experience. Candidates with less experience may also be considered

Accounting Officer

Key Requirements

  • Degree / relevant Diploma in Accounting or related discipline
  • Qualified member or student member with a recognized professional accounting body
  • Minimum five years of accounting experience
  • Practical experience in SUN Accounting System and Vision is a plus
  • Responsible, hardworking and equipped with a strong sense of integrity and capacities to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts with a high level of accuracy, completeness and efficiency
  • Manage daily accounting duties including A/P, A/R, General Ledger and Accounts Reconciliations
  • Prepare month end closing, financial analysis and management reports
  • Prepare year-end financial report and coordinate the annual Company audit.
  • Assist in annual budget review and preparation

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of UNICEF fundraising events

  • Manage and plan special projects as designated

Background and Requirements

  • Degree holder or tertiary educated in Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experiences in project management, including relevant experiences of managing large scale events
  • Proven experience in fundraising would be highly preferred
  • Proven ability to work according to timeline and milestones
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good communication and strong presentation skills, fluent
  • Goal-oriented self-starter who is able to be both a proactive leader and a hands-on participant in a collaborative work environment focused on achieving results
  • A team-player able to work independently, multi-task, while meeting tight deadlines
