Communication Manager

The position plans, implements, monitors and evaluates a communication strategy to enhance the brand equity of UNICEF in Hong Kong, promotes and advocates for child rights and effectively communicates the work of UNICEF in the Hong Kong community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor an effective communication strategy to enhance the brand equity of UNICEF in Hong Kong, increase engagement with the mass public, and broaden UNICEF awareness in the community.
  • Monitor public opinions of UNICEF in all communication platforms (online and offline), identify sensitive issues and develop appropriate response mechanism.
  • Advise, or execute as needed, on the effective use of tools of mass communication to achieve communication objectives.
  • Oversee, or execute as needed, all content of external communications materials (online and offline), to ensure its alignment with the strategic communication plan.
  • Cultivate and maintain good relationship with media partners, reporters, KOLs.

Background and Requirements

  • University degree in communication, journalism, marketing, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or marketing and at least 2 years of managerial experience a plus
  • Solid experience in digital communication preferred
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in both English and Chinese
  • Good interpersonal, management and problem solving skills
  • Creative, highly motivated, passionate, detailed minded, and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Communication Manager.

Specialist, Fundraising Events

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of UNICEF fundraising events.
  • Coordinate all resources (including external parties and supporters) for the roll-out of the plan.
  • Manage and plan special projects as designated.

Background and Requirements

  • Degree holder or tertiary educated in Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experiences in project management, including relevant experiences of managing large scale events;
  • Proven experience in fundraising would be highly preferred;
  • Proven ability to work according to timeline and milestones;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Good communication and strong presentation skills, fluent;
  • Goal-oriented self-starter who is able to be both a proactive leader and a hands-on participant in a collaborative work environment focused on achieving results; and
  • A team-player able to work independently, multi-task, while meeting tight deadlines.

This position is on a one-year contract basis. The renewal / extension of appointment will be subject to organizational needs, availability of funding and job performance.

Fundraising Officer

Responsibilities

  • Develop fundraising materials in line with the business plan.
  • Support the planning and development of large scale public fundraising events and be responsible for their organization and execution.
  • Handle donors and participants information, enquiries, logistic and administration of events.
  • Provide a full range of administrative support to the fundraising team.

Background and Requirements

  • Diploma/ Degree holder in Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related disciplines;
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experiences in project management;
  • Proven ability to handle multiple, complex tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven ability to work accordingly to timeline and milestones;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with people of all levels;
  • Keen attention to detail, flexibility in high-pressure situations and the willingness to assist with all tasks needed;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese; and,
  • Proficient in MS Office, in particular PowerPoint.

Donor Relations Assistant (1-year contract)

Responsibilities

  • Manage donor data update and input into the Organization’s database.
  • Answer donor enquiry including but not limited to phone and email, and make follow-up calls to ensure the accuracy of provided information, if necessary.
  • Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Assist with the processing of donations, including but not limited to, consolidate donation forms, issue receipts and donation confirmations.
  • Assist in the donor retention initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and logistics support to Organization’s fundraising events.
  • Provide support to the team, and other duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Background and Requirements

  • CE or DSE graduate or above with at least 1 year of working
  • Proficient in spoken Cantonese, fair in English and Chinese writing and reading
  • Good telephone manner and communications skills
  • Strong proficiency in data entry (Eng: 45 wpm; Chi: 25 wpm)
  • Proficient in basic PC knowledge and MS Office (Word & Excel)
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, self-motivated, hardworking and able to work under pressure

Education Officer (Training and Curriculum Development)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement child rights education related curriculum with reference to a) values and works of UNICEF, b) moral and civil education curriculum guideline; and c) PSHE curriculum.
  • Design and implement train-the-trainer programmes for teachers and volunteers.
  • Develop and run training modules and education programmes for students in the school setting.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and teachers for reviewing and co-developing curriculum and school programmes.
  • Monitor and evaluate work progress and outputs to demonstrate results and impact.
  • Plan and monitor promotion and publicity of various school programmes.

Background and Requirements

  • Degree holder or above with at least 2 years’ relevant working experience, preferably in education, training, curriculum design or related fields. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Education Officer.
  • A good understanding of global and local child issues would be a distinct advantage.
  • Good command in both spoken and written Chinese and English.
  • Proactive, independent, multi-tasking; able to work under pressure, long hours and on weekend.
  • Positive team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Immediate available is preferred.
