UNICEF Club and SDGs eLearn Award Scheme Appreciation Ceremony 2021/22

HONG KONG, 25 August 2022 —— Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) hosted “UNICEF Club and SDGs eLearn Award Scheme Appreciation Ceremony 2021/22” on 21 August to commend participating schools and students for their enthusiastic support. The ceremony was attended by Ms Yolanda Ng, MH, Director, Advocacy and Community Outreach of UNICEF HK, school principals, consultant teachers, student committee members and awardees of SDGs eLearn Award Scheme.
UNICEF Club Programme
Ms Yolanda Ng, MH, Director, Advocacy and Community Outreach of UNICEF HK expressed her gratitude to school principals, teachers and students who supported UNICEF Club programme, “Despite massive challenges posed by COVID pandemic, UNICEF Club organized 60 school activities and more than 8,000 students were engaged this year.” The Programme provided students with precious opportunities to learn about global children's rights issues and UNICEF works, as well as fulfilling their global citizen responsibilities.
SDGs eLearn Award Scheme
Furthermore, UNICEF HK launched SDGs eLearn Award Scheme which empowered our next generation to take online lessons on different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while staying safe at home during fifth wave COVID special school eak. Over 2,200 participants from 92 secondary schools have showed unlimited creativity by turning knowledge learnt from the online platform into practical SDGs actions in their daily lives. 110 outstanding students were presented Gold Medal Certificate.
Ms Yolanda Ng, MH also said that “UNICEF HK is now preparing a junior SDGs eLearn programme for primary school student to encourage self-directed learning. This is one of the many initiatives to attain our vision of Reimagine Education.”
