Senior Manager/Manager, Communications & Media Relations

Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF was founded in 1986 and was established as an independent non-government organization to support UNICEF’s mission.

This Senior Manager, Communications and Media Relations role will lead and execute effective communications and marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and media engagement. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in various marketing disciplines, exceptional bilingual communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive impactful campaigns to enhance brand awareness, relevancy and engagement in HK community to facilitate works of UNICEF worldwide.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the communications team to implement effective corporate communications strategies.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with media contacts, managing media inquiries, and developing strategies to secure positive media coverage.
  • Manage and mentor team members in executing corporate communication tasks, including project and people management, collaboration with external partners, and compliance with communication and marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and community engagement in support of fundraising and advocacy programmes.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including governance bodies, supporters, vendors, volunteers, media, and partners, to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and support for branding and publicity initiatives.
  • Identify partnership opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of brand management.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or marketing, and with at least 2 years of managerial experience a plus
  • Solid experience in digital communication preferred
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in both English and Chinese
  • Good interpersonal, management and problem solving skills
  • Creative, highly motivated, passionate, detailed minded, and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as the Manager-level position.

Specialist, Advocacy and Community Outreach

Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF was founded in 1986 and was established as an independent non-government organization to support UNICEF’s mission.

 

We are seeking two Specialist roles to join our Advocacy and Community Outreach team to plan and implement programmes to arousing public momentum in addressing glocal children's development needs. The focus areas will be

  1. Breastfeeding and Early Childhood Development

  2. School and Youth Engagement

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Implement plan of relevant advocacy programmes and campaigns to support and deliver advocacy strategy by setting out clear deliverables and implementation details

  1. Breastfeeding and early childhood development, or

  2. School and youth engagement

  • Support the planning of programmes with evidence, monitor outcomes, and prepare relevant analysis and reporting

  • Conduct outreach exercise and engage with relevant stakeholders

  • Executing initiatives to optimize operating efficiency and ensure compliance

 

Requirements

  • Degree in social science, policy research or public administration or related field is preferred

  • 2-3 years' of relevant experience in advocacy programme planning, resource allocation and programme implementation

  • Proven stakeholders engagement skills.

  1. Breastfeeding and early childhood role requires corporate and community partnership experience

  2. School and youth role requires education sector and youth programme experience

  • Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese

  • Proficiency in MS office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing

  • Candidate with less experience may be considered for an Officer-level position

Specialist, Communications and Media Relations

The Communication Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing effective communications and marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and engagement. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in various marketing disciplines, exceptional bilingual communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive impactful campaigns to enhance brand awareness, relevancy and engagement in HK community to facilitate works of UNICEF worldwide.  This will be a 1 year’s contract with potential to convert to a permanent role.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • From an international perspective, collaborating in the conceptualization and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies, plans, and programs aimed at increasing brand visibility and engagement
  • Partner with internal departments and external marketing agencies to effectively promote brand awareness, fundraising initiatives, and advocacy efforts through innovative marketing campaigns
  • Manage diverse marketing disciplines, including digital content creation, copywriting, multimedia production, social media engagement, direct marketing, and SEO/SEM strategies to deliver compelling campaigns
  • Develop and produce bilingual marketing materials (English and Chinese), including flyers, posters, direct mailers, brochures, presentations, infographics, videos, and newsletters, ensuring cultural relevance and impact
  • Assess and refine marketing campaigns and advertising strategies using performance metrics and analytics to ensure maximum effectiveness and return on investment

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in a non-profit or advocacy environment.
  • Exceptional bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with marketing metrics and CRM tools
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, content management systems, and design software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
