UNICEF Charity Run 2023 Appreciation Luncheon: Celebrating Collaboration in Promoting Children's Rights

29 February 2024, Hong Kong – In celebration of the successful conclusion of UNICEF Charity Run 2023, Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) hosted UNICEF Charity Run 2023 Appreciation Luncheon today at The Murray Hong Kong. The event warmly welcomed partners, sponsors, and other supporting organizations to reflect on the accomplishments of Charity Run and present awards to winning athletes.

 

UNICEF Charity Run 2023, held on 5th November 2023 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay, drew over 5,000 enthusiastic runners dedicated to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3. The event raised a commendable total of HKD 7.65 million, which will be utilized to support UNICEF global efforts in areas of health, nutrition, water and hygiene, and other initiatives related to child rights.

 

Ms. Judy Chen, Chairman of UNICEF HK, remarked in her welcome address, "As the pandemic recedes, UNICEF Charity Run returned as a physical event after four years. We once again witnessed the unwavering commitment from all segments of society, instilling hope in the lives of vulnerable children. Our heartfelt appreciation extends to our Lead Partner, China Cinda (HK) Holdings Company Limited, for their generous support in collaborating with UNICEF HK to create a better future for children worldwide."

 

Mr. Liang Sen Lin, Chairman of China Cinda (HK) Holdings Company Limited (China Cinda HK), stated in his speech, "China Cinda HK shares UNICEF’s vision in safeguarding children's rights globally and is steadfast in improving their health and well-being, fostering a brighter future. Since 2018, China Cinda HK has been supporting the work of UNICEF, witnessing the organization’s remarkable achievements in promoting child health, education, and protection. We firmly believe that every child should have equal opportunities to pursue their dreams and should receive our care and support."

 

UNICEF HK consistently prioritizes the holistic development of children and youth, championing the ethos of "Children for Children." This Appreciation Luncheon also invited award-winning athletes across various categories of the 3km Youth Run, amplifying the message of caring for children.
