Communication Officer

This position assist Communication Manager on implementing traditional and digital communication strategy, associated products and activities on on-going basis with printed media, website, social media and other digital channels, with the objective of promoting awareness, understanding, support and respect for children’s rights, and support for UNICEF’s mission, priorities and programmes in the Hong Kong community and inspire supporters to take action.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of various communications pieces, i.e. press release, newsletter, blogs, speech, LTT, etc;
  • Maintaining a strong network of media contacts such as media, KOL, micro-influencers, celebrities and bloggers, etc;
  • Create, edit and commission a variety of engaging online and multimedia content for website, email marketing system, social media, and mobile channels;
  • Contribute to the creation of content strategy, helping to identify the most compelling stories and most effective ways of communicating our work via digital channels;
  • Monitor, record, evaluate and report on media and key digital performance statistics;
  • Facilitate and advise on media and digital content across the organization;
  • Support other communication duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • University degree in communication, journalism, marketing, translation or related disciplines;
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in media relations and digital communication in content development;
  • Good knowledge in the latest in digital and social media technology and channels and how to best leverage for brand communication and marketing;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
  • Good interpersonal, project management and problem solving skills;
  • Creative, highly motivated, passionate, self-starter, detailed minded, and able to work effectively under pressure;
  • Knowledge of video editing and graphic design applications preferred.

Specialist, Sustainable Funds

The Specialist, Sustainable Funds works to support the planning and implementation of comprehensive fundraising programs that secure significant financial contributions from individuals, foundations, charitable trusts, family offices and others to support UNICEF’s humanitarian and development missions for children in need. This role is an exciting position at a dynamic team, and as such, s/he will play a supporting role in the globalization of philanthropy and to manage and cultivate local philanthropists with global focus, and drive forward growth in the Committee’s philanthropy fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and support in the organisation’s fundraising strategy, working in collaboration with the team, to leverage innovative methods to capture sustainable and diversified income sources;
  • Develop creative and engaging ways to deliver individual donor conversion, upgrade and retention strategy;
  • Assist in grant-writing, and develop pitch decks and concept notes for potential funders;
  • Work with other teams for the deployment of various fundraising initiatives and monitor the implementation of funded projects;
  • Provide support in all aspects of fund-raising events/functions, including event preparation, correspondence drafting, coordination with contractors and vendors, and other logistic arrangement;
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) from time to time

Requirements

The position will act highly independently to produce results. S/he is expected to be:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales and marketing, including relevant experiences with donors;
  • A university degree and ability to analyse and synthesize complex data and formulate insights and strategies;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • A strong donor service and customer service background with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Able to plan, develop and produce results independently;
  • Proactive, creative, independent, strong sense of integrity and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Remarks:

Appointment will be on contract terms for a period of 2 years. An end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.

Lead, Marketing Planning

Responsibilities

The Lead, Marketing Planning is responsible to act as the centre of excellence on marketing for the Fundraising Dept., to lead, drive and develop marketing plans to enable various streams of fundraising to achieve its targets financially and in terms of trust and loyalty. The key scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Working closely with Fundraising Managers, to develop marketing strategy and its implementation plan to enhance results of fundraising campaigns/events and add brand & goodwill value;
  • Project manage all elements of the marketing plan incl. analysis of results;
  • Lead digital marketing strategy for both income generation and donor loyalty enhancement, and provide professional counsel and service for the Fundraising Dept;
  • Lead a team to create donor-friendly content and effective design to enhance marketing value of the fundraising campaigns/events;
  • Act as a hub tor the provision of marketing (online & offline) knowledge, counsel and service. This includes the selection of service providers, the coordination of any market research and studies or the supervision of agency service, as needed

Requirements

  • Degree holder in advertising, marketing, business or related disciplines;
  • At least 8 years of experience in advertising, marketing, or business development in agencies or corporates or international NGOs. Demonstrated experience of digital marketing is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical skills to drive effective results and provide market assessment;
  • Able to put donors at the centre of communication; excellent command of English & Chinese as well as digital marketing language;
  • A great team player with excellent interpersonal skills and can work well with multiple stakeholders;
  • Strong business acumen and ability to apply marketing and brand to achieve business results
