On 5 January, Ghinwa, 7, and her brother Alaa, 11, at Al-Khalidia Al-Khamisa informal settlement in Homs. As their house in this unfinished building remains in a dire condition and many repairs are needed to make it suitable for winter, Ghinwa and Alaa are trying to get warm with blankets.

UNICEF is targeting one million children throughout the country with winter supplies during the 2015/2016 winter season. So far, winter clothing kits and blankets have reached 95,000 children while delivery and distribution is ongoing for 545,000 children. In addition, 2,000 heaters are currently being installed in classrooms benefiting 80,000 children.

– 讓人道行動暢通無阻地持續進行,從而即時拯救敘利亞境內所有處於危難中的人;
– 本着人道主義,暫停並無條件地監控停火,從而能夠為平民提供食物和其他緊急援助、接種疫苗和提供其他醫療服務,以及讓兒童能夠重返校園;
– 停止摧毀民用基本設施 — 讓學校和醫院及水源得以安全保存;
